The concept of happiness is so unfamiliar to most people in South Africa, especially with the youth that live in different local regions, where they are affected by poverty and a high rate of criminal activity. These outcomes affect our youth and they tend to be fall into the wrong mind-set which leads them to implement certain behaviours. What people don’t know is that happiness comes from giving the very same youth an opportunity to create a better, if not a brighter future one and here at iHappify we strive for that.
So, tell us about your perception of happiness.
Happiness to me means being content with all that you possess as an individual, which can vary from person to person. The idea here is to create a channel where opportunity can change the mind-sets of the youth because they are the tomorrow of this country.
With that said, do you think “opportunity” could be the key to unlock the youth?
I truly believe that opportunity is the key to so many things for the youth but yes, it is the key. Giving the youth more opportunity is handing them contentment on a silver platter. I mean think about it, once an opportunity is given to the youth, they can do some really cool and amazing things that will help develop not only themselves but our country, which created a happier nation.
Do you see a change in the near future now that happiness is the new trend?
Certainly! At the moment, I believe that happiness is one of the most in-demand products that are intangible. So many people genuinely need it but I see happiness as a culture that everyone practises everywhere, at home, at school or even at work in order to maintain high energy levels of positivity. Change is coming and iHappify is already on that board steering it towards the right direction – the future, our youth.
